Casey Tanks, Sime Industrial Solutions chief financial officer, wasn’t an A-grade student, but she loved maths.

Growing up in Adelaide with her two younger sisters and English parents, who ran a chauffeur service from the family home, Tanks was exposed to small business from an early age. At home, she did admin jobs for the business. At school, she worked hard as lessons didn’t necessarily come easy.
