How AMC’s chief conquered Twitter and won over young investors
This year, AMC Entertainment’s investor base underwent a dramatic shift. Like many publicly traded companies, the theatre chain historically has been owned at least 80 per cent by institutional investors – large money managers, pensions, and endowments.
But after it became a meme-stock favourite among retail traders, who have rabidly bought up its shares and sent its stock price through the roof this year, the dynamic flipped.
