For 50 years, the University of Newcastle has led the sector in addressing equity and access to higher education. This work is led through our university’s dedicated Pathways and Academic Learning Support Centre (PALS), which now delivers four unique and proven supportive pathways.

Home to Australia’s oldest and largest free university-ready pathway program, Open Foundation, as director of PALS I am immensely proud that we have set the higher education sector bar for enabling success and addressing inequities in university participation rates.
