Teaching, early childhood get lion’s share of new uni places

Teacher education will take the lion’s share of 20,000 new university places to be funded in the federal budget, with nursing, IT, health and engineering also receiving thousands of extra places.
In details announced on Sunday, Education Minister Jason Clare said 4036 places would go to teacher education courses, including 1469 for early childhood education.
