Postcard from a school leaver
Thanks for the sympathy but we've learnt to adapt and we're doing just fine.
Charlotte BlomfieldAs a student in the class of 2020, I have received a lot of sympathy for finishing school during the pandemic. And although I do appreciate the odd head tilt, people should know – at least in NSW – most of us are doing just fine.
Yes, we experienced the strange purgatory of isolation. But even then, we coped. We’ve grown up with technology, and we were never out of communication with each other. We did drive-by birthdays and Zoom calls, and once restrictions loosened, we started walking each other around our neighbourhoods.
