When Joanna Barbousas picked up a call from an unrecognised number last year, she didn’t expect to be offered $2.5 million.
The caller turned out to be Neville Bertalli, a serial philanthropist, who liked the work she was doing as dean of education at La Trobe University, teaching the next generation of teachers the science of reading and learning.
