The national teacher shortage presents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to rethink the shape of schools and the delivery of teaching, which has changed little over the past 100 years, in a way that brings them more into alignment with modern workforce design.

Modernising the delivery of education would also have knock-on benefits in freeing up time and resources that would ultimately benefit the educational progression of Australia’s school students.
