Boys’ results plummet early in high school

Teenage boys’ academic performance hits the skids when they enter high school and nearly half fall behind the national benchmark in writing, grammar and punctuation by the time they reach year 9.
Boys trail girls in four of the five domains on the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy, but score better results on numeracy throughout their entire school lives.
