Workers jumping ship as jobs outlook brightens

The number of people jumping ship to a new job is the highest in more than a decade, with the Reserve Bank of Australia signalling mobility has returned to pre-Global Financial Crisis levels amid hot competition for labour.

Nearly 440,000 people switched jobs in the three months to February 2022. The central bank says workers are upbeat about the jobs outlook and the pool of employees expected to change jobs within the next year is around its highest level since 2008.
