Wikramanayake: Diversity is not woke, it’s smart business

Corporate leaders shared stories of success and failure at a dinner honouring the 40th anniversary of Chief Executive Women

Diversity is prudent business, not activism, Macquarie Group chief executive Shemara Wikramanayake told an audience of more than 1000 women – and a smattering of men – at a black tie dinner event honouring the 40th anniversary of Chief Executive Women in Sydney on Thursday night.

“We don’t do diversity because it’s woke. We do it because it’s smart business,” she said.
