This year, 71-year-old Kerrie Claffey will embark on a three-month trip through Spain, Portugal and Malta. She wants to do the last 100 kilometres of the Camino de Santiago, a famed walk which traces its way across the Iberian Peninsula to the old city of Santiago de Compostela.

Last year, the former Qantas programmer spent a similar amount of time exploring the likes of Lithuania, Denmark, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan. She even took a Hurtigruten cruise to the Norwegian archipelago town of Svalbard, the land of the midnight sun.
