Hundreds of thousands – even millions – of dollars quietly disappear over the course of a career. It’s a financial catastrophe in slow motion.

Money compounds. So does hesitation. If you are a woman in the workforce, there is a good chance you’ve hesitated before asking for a pay rise.

Maybe you told yourself it wasn’t the right time. Maybe you were worried about seeming pushy. Or maybe you believed that hard work alone would be recognised, that staying quiet was a virtue, and that competence would speak for itself. It doesn’t.
