Vanadium stocks to watch for lithium replacement in batteries
More commonly known as an additive to steel (making it both lighter and stronger), the mineral has a growing profile as a battery material.
Elio D'AmatoContributorUnlike previous mining cycles, the lithium boom has been supported by deep pockets from both corporations and governments seeking to ensure future supply of this critical mineral.
In May last year, Goldman Sachs released a report on the sector warning investors that new supply and the emergence of unconventional new sources meant the good times for lithium stocks were over. Although the merits of the thesis remain a hot discussion topic, it does raise the question of other “unconventional sources” and whether we should be taking notice of them.
