Runway for American Airlines looks promising

The carrier is heavily leveraged to a rebound in US air travel, along with a general ramp up in international traffic.

The beleaguered airline sector has been hard hit during the pandemic, with some better placed to rebound than others as a vaccine comes on to the horizon. This particularly applies to those with well-established brands and strong balance sheets, with the ability to leverage into a resumption of global air travel. We consider American Airlines fits the bill with respect to US-listed airlines.

While it will take some time for the vaccine to be widely available, and there remains some uncertainty as to how it will all work in practice, the outlook for the airline sector has got somewhat brighter. This includes American Airlines which is heavily leveraged to a rebound in US air travel, along with a general ramp up in international traffic.
