Meet the ex-teacher giving his $3m inheritance to climate charities
Stephen Pfeiffer and Linh Do are part of a new generation of philanthropists with a sense of urgency. For those starting out, here are five mistakes to avoid.
Stephen Pfeiffer’s lightning bolt moment about climate change came in December 2019 as bushfires ravaged large parts of Australia, killing 33 people, destroying homes and devastating animal populations.
“We continued with business as usual, as if the world wasn’t literally burning around us,” says the former school teacher from Sydney. “I went from concerned to full-blown panic.”
An earlier version of this article said Linh Do was related to Anh Do, which is incorrect.
