JobSeeker, JobKeeper cut wealth inequality

The financial boost to recipients from more than $126 billion in COVID-era welfare payments cut the income gap between the richest and poorest earners to its narrowest on record, the Productivity Commission says.
More than $37 billion in JobSeeker payments and $89 billion in JobKeeper payments delivered comparatively large increases in income to lower-income workers, the commission found.
