The modest tin shed outside the small township of Nanango in rural Queensland is a world away from the comfortable lifestyle interior designer Suzie Beirne once enjoyed in her large family home overlooking Noosa’s main beach.
A divorce around two decades ago meant splitting the assets, but she managed to hang onto the Noosa house. At the time, Beirne felt optimistic that with continued hard work, she could build enough in her superannuation fund to retire comfortably.
