Young Rich Lister makes $200m bet on tech for airports

Young Rich Lister Aaron Hornlimann’s Elenium Automation, a software company aimed at helping airports to innovate, has carved out $200 million to bankroll a pay-as-you-go scheme that will let cash-strapped airlines and airports upgrade and automate their infrastructure without upfront capital investment.

As airlines and airports haemorrhage cash thanks to grounded planes and strict border rules, Mr Hornlimann said they were also facing concurrent demands to change from pre-pandemic operations to facilitate seamless, touchless, sanitised travel for a post-COVID world.
