Tech sector hits back at shorters' influence

High profile Australian tech veteran Adrian Di Marco has jumped to the defence of besieged tech stock WiseTech Global, saying highly critical reports from short-selling specialists J Capital Research (JCap) had questionable methodology and should be looked at by regulators.

Mr Di Marco, who is the founder and executive chairman of TechnologyOne, said hedge fund research firms like JCap, which benefit from slumps in company share prices, should be forced to submit research reports to the ASX and made to seek a response from the company in question in advance.
