At Melbourne start-up Roller, staff have been clocking in to work on public holidays like the King’s Birthday, Labour Day or President’s Day in the United States, in exchange for a day off for Lunar New Year, Diwali, or even their birthday.

Roller’s holiday swap program allows staff to swap up to three official public holidays for days that matter most to them, in a nod to the cultural, religious, or personal diversity of their workforce.
