When NSW Central Coast-based marketing executive Cheree Robinson’s daughter and friends embarked on a schoolies trip to Bali, the mother of three felt surprisingly relaxed at the prospect of her child’s growing independence and embrace of nightlife.

She went on the trip too as a designated chaperone, but rather than spending it stressed out, she took her own holiday nearby, and let technology keep an eye on what her daughter and friends were up to.
