WiseTech Global will continue to pay its controversial founder Richard White $1 million a year even though he was made to step down as chief executive officer, giving him a new role of chief innovation officer.

The 70-year-old returned to the top of the $40 billion technology giant in February as executive chairman, after he resigned following a string of allegations about his personal relationships and conduct at work.
