Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has become a Steve Jobs-like tech giant
Now a Wall Street hero, Nadella initially faced scepticism that he could change Microsoft’s combative culture after 22 years inside the company.
Satya Nadella marked his 10th year as Microsoft CEO on Sunday, February 4, capping a decade of stunning growth as he pivoted the slow-moving software giant into a firm laser-focused on cloud computing and artificial intelligence.
Microsoft’s stock has soared by more than 1000 per cent since Nadella took the helm in 2014, compared with the more gradual 185 per cent growth of the broader S&P 500. Microsoft now has a market value of $US3 trillion ($4.6 trillion) – more than any US publicly traded company, including its longtime rival Apple.
