Meta says it is still committed to hiring a diverse workforce in Australia despite its billionaire chief executive Mark Zuckerberg lamenting the rise of “culturally neutered” companies due to global efforts to make workplaces more equitable.
Meta, which owns Instagram and WhatsApp, told employees over the weekend it was disbanding its global diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) team. The announcement came days after the company loosened its content moderation policies across its social media platforms in the United States and said it would stop fact-checking social media posts in the US.
