Labor minister says AI may be ‘humanity’s last invention’

Assistant Minister for Employment Andrew Leigh believes computers will become smarter than humans and could threaten their creators.
Dr Leigh, who has a PhD in economics from Harvard University, cites a survey of experts who predict artificial intelligence will surpass human intelligence in 2059, a point known as “the singularity”.
