Kelly grills Facebook, Google over COVID-19 ‘differences of opinion’
Anti-vaxxer and United Australia Party leader Craig Kelly has grilled Facebook, Google and TikTok over how they identify and remove COVID-19 misinformation, and pushed the social media giants on why they do not allow “differences of opinion” regarding COVID-19 treatment.
Appearing before a committee investigating online safety, Google’s director of government affairs and public policy Lucinda Longcroft was asked by Mr Kelly how the company, which also owns YouTube, determines what information is accurate and what is considered misinformation related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
