Apple finally adds the iPad features users have wanted for a decade

The tech giant has announced its biggest overhaul of its tablet’s operating system, introducing pointers, menu bars and windows to make it like a real computer.

Cupertino, California | When the head of software engineering at Apple, Craig Federighi, summed up the changes Apple has just announced to the iPad’s operating system, it was difficult to tell if he was hyping the iPad, or mocking it.

“Wow! More windows, a pointier pointer, and a menu bar? Who would have thought? We have truly pulled off a mind-blowing release,” he said as part of his Tuesday keynote address at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference.
