How Google uses dark software tricks to turn your 'no' into a 'yes'

In Google's mind, not saying "no" to it at every turn is the same as saying "yes". This thinking is going to get it into trouble one day.

Let's call this a Morality Tale, a simple (but completely true) story about how Google believes it knows what's best for its users, believes it down to its core, and how this thinking is going to get it into trouble one day.

The story took place on a cold but sunny winter's morning, just a couple of days ago, the sort of morning when, if you're riding a motorbike, you don't mind getting stuck in traffic. Stopping at traffic lights gives you a chance to get some sun on your legs, and to warm your gloves on the bike's engine.
