Talking a tough game on “big tech” is now core vocabulary for most governments. The public is gradually realising that anything from an online annoyance to an online harm probably links back to externalities from social media companies’ business models.

Facebook, of course, is one of the worst offenders and equally one of the slipperiest operators.
