CBA to introduce smartphone ATM withdrawals
Updated | Commonwealth Bank customers will be able to withdraw cash from ATMs using their smartphones - and without a debit or credit card - for the first time next month, under an update to the bank’s mobile apps.
Commonwealth Bank and Westpac customers will be able to withdraw cash from automatic teller machines using smartphones for the first time.
CommBank unveiled plans on Wednesday to let customers request an amount they wish to withdraw from the bank’s iOS or Android mobile apps. The apps will produce a confirmation code which can be put into a compatible ATM to withdraw the money. A debit or credit card won’t be needed.
