Commonwealth Bank of Australia is set to join the land-grab for small business mobile payments as local competitors gear up for the long-rumoured entrance of US payments rival Square.

This week CBA executives will unveil Emmy, a payment terminal that allows small businesses to accept card payments through tap-and-go contactless payments, or with the encrypted chip plus PIN code.
