42-year-old Sydney tech company saved with $150m price drop

A 42-year-old Australian networking equipment company is set to escape the corporate scrapheap after it was bought by a Nasdaq-listed minnow for $US7 million ($10.6 million).

NetComm, which created early Australian dial-up modems and now makes wireless networking devices, was bought off the ASX in 2019 for $161 million in cash by a US company called Casa Systems. At the time, some minority shareholders claimed the price was too low.
