Atlassian sacks 500 staff amid tough tech market
Software giant Atlassian will make 500 full-time staff, or 5 per cent of its workforce, redundant as it cuts out extraneous roles in a company-wide restructure that comes less than six months after co-founder Scott Farquhar launched a tech talent hiring spree.
Affected staff began receiving emails within 15 minutes of the company’s announcement on Tuesday morning, with Atlassian confirming the redundancies will target roles in talent acquisition, program management and research.
