Unlockd falls in face of Google threat and enters administration

One of Australia's fastest-growing technology start-ups, Unlockd has gone into voluntary administration, blaming "anti-competitive" conduct by US tech giant Google, for its inability to access the funding it needed to survive.

Unlockd had raised more than $60 million in external funding in just two years, including a $30.7 million round last May, and has a wealth of big name backers – led by Lachlan Murdoch – among its investors.
