Adtech start-up Unlockd raises $30.7 million as Asian expansion plans take shape

Australian mobile advertising start-up Unlockd has closed a $US23 million ($30.7 million) fund raising round led by Malaysia-based telecommunications group Axiata, which will see it aggressively expand across Asia, including the lucrative Indian market.

The company is already backed by a host of big names including Lachlan Murdoch, Peter Gammell, Margaret Jackson, Citibank Australia chairman Sam Mostyn and Catch of the Day founders Hezi and Gabby Leibovich, many of whom have increased their stakes in this round. Controversial former Telstra chief executive Sol Trujillo is also a board member.
