Apple’s Siri to get its shot at AI redemption

Once the best (and only) AI assistant on phones and other devices, Siri has fallen into disrepair. Next week, Apple is expected to announce a host of improvements.

Ask an Apple smart speaker whether the TV show Severance is worth watching, and the Siri artificial intelligence chatbot built into the speaker will tell you, in so many words, that it has found the answer, but couldn’t be bothered wasting its breath to read them out to you via the speaker.

“I found some web results. I can show you if you ask again from your iPhone,” Siri will tell you.
