Appen shares surge 15pc as new chief outlines AI strategy

New Appen chief executive Ryan Kolln is hoping to sign one of the world’s largest telcos as a new customer to recover from a painful year that saw revenue at the data services business collapse 30 per cent.

The Australian, who is based in North America, is searching for new sales after Appen’s full-year results showed revenue fell to $US273 ($417 million) for the full year ended December 31.
