Seek co-founder Andrew Bassat says he is keen to get back to working with entrepreneurs after years at the helm of the recruitment giant, and has a war chest of more than $1 billion ready to take the fight to his brother Paul in the booming local venture capital scene.
After surprisingly stepping aside from his chief executive role at Seek last week - handing the job to former Commonwealth Bank chief Ian Narev - Bassat is set on doubling the size of its venture capital operations Seek Investments and backing the next generation of winners in three specific areas.
