Direct air capture start-ups are bracing for a wave of fresh investment after the landmark United States Inflation Reduction Act included the emerging technology in its wide-ranging decarbonisation bill.

Deanna D’Alessandro, professor and ARC Future Fellow at the University of Sydney’s School of Chemistry, told The Australian Financial Review Energy Summit she had struggled to secure funding for her direct air capture technology.
