The failure of the New Seaclem-1 well off NSW has wiped more than $260 million off the share prices of its partners.

The partners behind the well - which include MEC Resources , BPH Energy , Grandbridge and Bounty Oil & Gas – formally conceded on Tuesday that the well had failed to find any oil or gas.
