Trans-Tasman private equity firm Mercury Capital is set to restock its acquisition warchest with a fundraising that would be double the size of its last effort.

Street Talk can reveal Clark Perkins-run Mercury has been warming up investors about a new $600 million fund, which is slated to launch next month and would be its first new fund since 2015.
