Greencross founder, ex-Queensland premier join private equity upstart

Punters often think venture capital investing is a lot like Shark Tank, the reality TV show where aspiring entrepreneurs parade their start-ups in front of a panel of investors. Now, a private equity upstart has bagged itself a “shark” to help it uncover well-run small businesses as the founder looks for the exit.

Greencross Vets founder and Healthia non-executive chairman Glen Richards has joined the board of lower mid-market firm Arbor Permanent Owners as chairman and investor. Richards also appeared on Channel 10’s Shark Tank, investing in wine greeting card label-maker Cellarwraps, anchor retrieval device Catch’n’Release and weed killer Intelliweed.
