Billionaire Jack Cowin is celebrating the 50th anniversary of a trip to Australia that changed his life – and those of a handful of unknown Canadians that have got rich with him along the way.

Cowin has long been a prominent member of the Financial Review Rich List. His wealth from his private Competitive Foods that has 430 Hungry Jack's fast-food stores around the country and his 23 per cent stake in the listed Domino's Pizza Holdings make up the majority of his $2.41 billion fortune. That puts him in 24th place on the 2018 Rich List that was published on Friday.
