The first stop of Ed Husic’s retaliation tour took him to ABC’s Insiders on Sunday to blame Richard Marles for his ousting. One normal week of Labor government? It’ll never happen.

Surely, the worst bit about Husic’s slur on Marles as a “factional assassin” is the deputy prime minister would have taken this as a compliment. The headkicking that saw Husic and attorney general Mark Dreyfus dumped from the ministry elevated three men. Most of the talk inside Labor circles over the weekend centres on the brazen promotion of Sam Rae.
