Plutus tax frauds’ luxury taste goes under the hammer

The original owners of these proceeds of crime don’t have much use for them in jail.

The Commonwealth has enlisted First State Auctions to sell several “luxury assets” seized in the Plutus tax scandal this week. They are aiming “to return significant value to the community”, which we take to mean clawing back some of the cash the public would have benefited from had those involved just paid their fair share of tax in the first place.
