So much has occurred since Brittany Higgins claimed to two media outlets that she had been raped in Parliament House that it’s easy to forget the scandal’s immediate impact was the commissioning of a review into Parliament House’s notoriously noxious workplace culture.

That review – conducted by National Sex Discrimination Commissioner Kate Jenkins and released in late 2021 – recommended, among other things, an expansion of the powers and jurisdiction of the Parliamentary Workplace Support Service.
