What greyhound racing lacks in corporate heft or prestige, it makes up for in sheer political salience. But that doesn’t necessarily attract the great and the good to oversee its operation.

In 2021 – five years on from the reversal of ex-premier Mike Baird’s short-lived and furiously opposed ban on the sport in NSW – Greyhound Racing NSW hit upon a novel way to attract better directors. Namely: by letting them punt.
