Departing Virgin CEO Jayne Hrdlicka loses the Hawaii option

It would be hard to adjust to the lifestyle change from leading one of the country’s biggest companies and overseeing the Australian Open to just having the latter. But the sting must be worse for Virgin’s departing chief Jayne Hrdlicka, who is not only being replaced by chief commercial officer Dave Emerson on Friday but also recently lost her Hawaiian Airlines director gig.

Hrdlicka sat on the board of Hawaiian Airlines until its recent dissolution ahead of a merger with Alaskan Airlines. It is currently a partner of Virgin Australia, hence her involvement with the airline. But last week, Hawaiian announced it was ending that relationship on June 30.
