We have to hand it to Corporate Travel Management founder Jamie Pherous, who last week managed to raise $375 million of fresh capital for an acquisition he wouldn’t contribute $1 of his own money to.
“I’m the lowest paid CEO in the ASX 200 I believe, or maybe I’m 199,” Pherous told an investor call on Tuesday. “I do that for shareholders and I rely on dividends for my income.” This echoes the September 2019 comments of his incoming chairman, Ewen Crouch, that Pherous “does not want to take a large salary”.
