Well, the Blackmores annual meeting is said and done. Chairman Anne Templeman-Jones was returned with 60 per cent of the vote and rebel board candidate George Tambassis fell short with 44 per cent, despite a professional campaign financed by the company’s largest shareholder, Marcus Blackmore.

Shareholders were treated to slick (but interminable) election pitches. It felt less like an AGM than an infomercial for BrandPower, with Helen Dalley subbing in for Jo Silvagni. All the speakers talked around the main issue: their existential duel about nothing.
